Ok this is my 100th post! Haha looking at other people showing off their 600th and 800th post mine is nothing compared to them!
Well it has been a long time since I blogged about something interesting. For lazy bloggers, usually when they have an idea of what to blog about, they would forget it by the time they reached the Dashboard, in the end blogging about random and stupid stuffs. For consistent bloggers, they would blog about what they do everyday, and anything funny or stupid or sad going on.
Today I would like to share a story from Yi Xiu He Shang, which I find it really meaningful:
YiXiu, his master and General XingYou were on a journey to YongPing Temple for an examination by the senior monks. They were camping out one night in the wild and YiXiu couldn't sleep due to nervousness. He realised that alot of mosquitoes were out there and was worried that they will bite his master.
"I must think of a way to help my master, and let him have an undisturbed sleep!" He said determinedly.
He thought and he thought, and finally came up with a plan. He applied General XingYou's liquor all over himself before going to sleep, so as to feed himself to the mosquitoes and let his master have an undisturbed sleep.
Late during the midnight, YiXiu's master woke up. He turned to check on YiXiu, and was shocked to see that his body was covered with mosquito bites and he was shivering in his sleep.
"YiXiu! YiXiu! Wake up! Why are you so silly?"
"Huh?" YiXiu woke up and was momentarily stunned after he realised that his master had found out what he had done. General XingYou woke up minutes later to see YiXiu being lectured by his master.
"Your body doesn't belong to you. It is what your parents gave you as a whole, as well as a portion of God's flesh. Hence it is wrong of you to use this method to protect me from the mosquitoes." YiXiu hung his head while his master told him to wash his face at the nearby pond. Meanwhile, General XingYou is puzzled.
"YiXiu used his own body to feed the mosquitoes so that you can have an undisturbed sleep. Why aren't you thanking him instead of telling him off." he asked.
"Of course I have my reasons in doing that," YiXiu's master explained calmly. "If I were to compliment him for doing this, he will do this continuously every night while we camp, allowing the mosquitoes to bite him again and again. By then if I were to tell him off right now, at least he will understand as time passes as to why I do that. YiXiu is still a young child, I would rather the both of us gets bitten by mosquitoes than he taking all the bites. He is more vulnerable and have a greater chance of getting sick from all those mosquito bites..."
As General XingYou hung his head in shame, YiXiu burst out from behind the trees and fall on his knees.
"Thanks, Master!" YiXiu said, his voice slightly shaking. "I know that the way I think is really too childish.
"Stop crying, YiXiu. Although I am much older and have more experience than you, we are both still striving for more knowledge and hence we are level. No matter what I must thank you for taking the mosquito bites. But in future you must promise me never to do this again. We shall take the bites together."
As YiXiu fall on his master's arms, General XingYou looked away, his eyes wet with tears. As you can see, even as we reached 15 years of age, our mind could still be thinking the same way as YiXiu would have done. We would always think that our actions to help someone would be heroic, although it may have serious consequences to oneself. People will compliment on you for what you have done but it certainly does not mean that what you did was wise. Without knowing it, you would continue to do the wrong and foolish things until someone appeared and really talked sense into you.
I watched the following cartoon last time when I was very young. Just now I watched it with my sister and I almost cried at the part above. YiXiu is an example of young people who gets to know how life is like the hard way. As compared to YiXiu, we really need to start adjusting our lifestyles. Sometimes foolish young people just think of nonsense that they think it is cool, and their friends get interested overtime and started doing the same. By the time sense is talked into them, it would have been too late...
Haha I would end my post now. This is a really sad post but I think it should really be shared with people out there. Maybe I would touch on other important things going on out there when I have the time. Byee!~
