Black, White and a tinge of Grey - Unexplained Point of Relaxation

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

I just suddenly want to talk about JC life so far in St Andrew's. The demands of JC, especially the pressure of taking 4H2, are starting to act on me.

First, let me talk about my greatest loathing in JC, General Paper. I know that people who have a great foundation in English will probably laugh at me now, but I seriously think that GP is very hard!

Just yesterday's and today's lecture is enough to intimidate me. In just a total of 3 hours, Globalisation and Arts & Culture were skimmed through and 2 assignments were thrown at us.

Assignment 1 (Globalisation)

"In your opinion, has globalisation been more of a boon or a bane in Singapore?" Discuss within aspects of Singapore and word-count must exceed 300.

Assignment 2 (Arts & Culture)

"...Mayor Guiliani of New York and many others who protested the exhibition assert that tax funded cultural institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art should be made to conform to decency standards set by commissions overseeing any institution which receives public funds."

Do you agree? Why or why not? Word-count must exceed 300

3 words...

HOW . I . KNOW?!?!?

Maybe it is a totally bad start for me in GP, to totally hate the subject after only two lectures on two topics that I obviously had came across before. I even felt that each of my 4H2 subjects are easier to cope than GP!

Maths: No time to check answers thoroughly

Chemistry: I do not know how to do Example 5 in my Volumetric Analysis notes, other than that I'm starting to get the hang in Chem. =)

Biology: Revise after every single lecture and I should be OK. Again, no time, or should I say, lazy to do the tutorials.

Economics: I shall attempt the tutorials(Essay questions) after Supply is covered.(Hopefully)

Some of my friends in other JCs mentioned that Project Work sucks and it is gay and so on. For us in SAJC, I think our Project Work officially starts at around March, perhaps after the March Holidays. I wonder if I shall look forward to PW or not...

Back to forcing myself to do assignment 1 of GP. Both are due this Friday, Damn!
