Black, White and a tinge of Grey - Unexplained Point of Relaxation

201st post! =)

Let me start off this post(going to be a long one) with a story...

It was a very warm midnight(I think I am the first person to use this introduction). Anselm was feeling terribly thirsty as he drank drinks of all sorts of colours (Orange juice, Mirinda Grape, Milk, Soya Bean, Coca Cola) and ate a lot of oily food the previous day.

So he decided to grab a quick drink. He went into his kitchen and took a cup.

He then filled it with water... (Duh)

gulped it down... (Ignore my eyebags and not-very-nice facial features)

and placed it back beside his water bottle.

He then went back to using his computer. Little did he know that while he was blogging, his water bottle and the cup he has just used were engaging in a conversation.

W: Water Bottle
C: Cup

W: Hey, you! Tell you something, man. Anselm always uses me when he goes to school. He fills me right up to my brim and hugs me when he's on the bus on the way to school. By the end of school I would be empty and he hugs me all the way back again!

C: What's your point?

W: My point is Anselm loves to drink from me, unlike you when he only needs to satisfy a moment of thirst.

C: Well, obviously he needs a lot of water given his huge size. He just uses you because you give him just the right amount of water he wants, not because he Luurrrvvves to drink from you.

W: Hey shut up man! I don't see him bringing you to school at all!

C: He would look stupid holding me on the bus, you fool. Nobody ever brings a cup to school just to use it to drink water! Besides I need to satisfy thirsts from his parents as well!

W: Huh! Every morning when he wakes up and gets ready for school, he will fill me up and occassionally drinks from me!

C: For convenience, duh!

C: Please man, you are already leaking at the top and can't be overturned freely. You are big and therefore just right for him to bring to school. He doesn't 'love' to drink from you or anything, just finding you convenient, so YOU shut up already!

W: ...

When Lee Xiao Long first joined his sect, he was still a rookie. Like most rookies he was very anxious of quick results. He kept urging his teacher to tell him all sorts of secrets as to how to improve his strength and become better than his seniors.

His teacher replied slowly: "Still the same thing no matter how many times you asked. Practice your basics and foundations daily and master them. Engage yourself with combat practices with other members of the sect to increase your skills' level. Do not crave for instantaneous results, they will never work."

"

No matter how smart you are, when you choose the JC life, you start out as a fresh rookie, a greenhorn. It is no use expecting great results if you yourself did not bother to study and memorise all your fundamental concepts in learning particular subjects. When you urge your tutors/seniors/peers for help, ask constructive questions whereby both parties can learn from, not stupid questions whereby the person you asked can just simply give you a statement and dismiss you.

Knowledge, or should I say the syllabus required for the 'A' level, must be built up gradually. Even if you do some last-minute memorisation and do well for a test, you may not necessarily do well for another test. The next test will definitely test you on more topics, including those that you have been tested on. By choosing last-minute memorisation, you may not understand the concepts well when you study, causing you to waste extra time memorising them again. Instead, one can learn back all his concepts, understand them and apply them to exam questions easily. In this way he or she could have the extra time practising more questions instead of going back to previous topics and try to cramp everything in just for the examinations again.

It may sound very long-winded, but I find what I've typed above as a form of self-reflection. I guess I roughly know how to spend the rest of my June Holidays.

I think I need to read the entire Project Work 'A' Level 2009 Paper again. I still don't quite get how Project Work works... =( By tomorrow, or technically today since it's now 1:59am, I must be fully aware of what I am going to do, and START CONTRIBUTING to my team. !!!

Grade A is achievable
Grade B is simply being there
