Black, White and a tinge of Grey - Unexplained Point of Relaxation

Friday, July 3, 2009

I'm here to post again!

Well Common Test is FINALLY over! It is quite shocking really. I haven't really recovered from the fact that holidays have long ended, I'm now facing with a new shock that Common Test is over just like that. To put it directly:

Monday: Biology and Economics
Tuesday: Chemistry
Thursday: Mathematics and that's it

Let me review on my performance. Not going to talk rubbish, just giving you the possibilities I have cooked up.

Biology: 33% A, 60% B, 7% C
Economics: 20% A, 75% B, 5% C
Chemistry: 30% A, 70% B
Mathematics: 90% A, 10% B
General Paper: 10% A, 20% B, 30% C, 40% D

It's funny that now Common Test is over, I'm DYING to get back all the results; I'm even speculating it already! Hopefully, yeah you guessed it, I get all A! A feat hard to accomplish, aka 80 rank points!!!

I'm still a little bit pissed off for Maths though... I lost marks because I left the Graphing Techniques question blank. =P

Now that Common Test is over, normal lessons resume for us 'Saints' on Tuesday onwards. Just been to facebook not long ago, and people are talking about the first day of the second half of 2009 just passed, and I was quite affected by it.

Even though it is repeated by all sorts of people, it is undoubtly the truth - We are now at the second half of 2009 ALREADY! For JC 1 people, it means 3 things, ok fine a lot of things, let's see how many I can come up with.

1) If you are still slacking, it's best to get a move on. If you are struggling with certain topics, skills, techniques for any subject, it's best to practice it over and over again and achieve perfection. This is because the second half of JC1 would mean the FINALS! The ever so bloody important exam that contributes 70% of your promotion criteria!

2) Project Work intensive half of the year, duh! Notice how I've been complaining about Project Work? Damn it! November 20-something and I swear I will scold fark right at Project Work and burn the notes up!

3) Self-discipline. I still remember posting for the 12 choices after receiving my O level results, Leon not making it to SAJC, ended up in PJC and all sorts of happenings. I have chosen the JC life, aka very tiring, very fast-paced life. JC life puts a teenager immediately as a full-time student, trying to understand all the nonsense the syllabus offer and in the end achieve the 'A's. I'm sure for every JC student, a B or a C is like, "Are you kidding me?" sort of feeling. I'm not saying anything about myself, but nobody would want to get anything BUT an A! The solution/strategy to getting your 'A's is nothing but self-discipline!

4) Don't let anything else affect your way. This is my non-Christian way of thinking - Do everything at your best so that when you slack, it is a form of rewarding yourself.

5) CCA commitment. CULINARY CLUB FOR THE WIN!

6) Cherish your friends. Studies as priority, friends to guide you and share your weals and woes.

7) Don't get into unneccessary 'emoness'. Can't find the correct word to illustrate this, but time shouldn't be wasted on thinking about what other people think of you.

8) Just try to sleep more...

Tomorrow, I mean today, 10am, Potong Pasir MRT station... PROJECT WORK
